Challenges of Youth

Gangs are the result of basic problems like poverty, broken families, unemployment, dropping out of school, despair, boredom, racism, drugs, etc. For many young people, gangs satisfy the basic and essential human need to belong to a group, a feeling of identity and affirmation for what is lacking in other parts of their lives. A study by the University of Chicago estimated that gangs currently exist in nearly all of the 50 states of the nation, including Alaska and Hawaii.
Between the existence of more gangs and more acts of violence, the urgency is even greater to find a solution to this problem. Without a doubt, the lack of a turn-around in the youth of today ensures that the prisons will be full tomorrow.

Este problema he existido desde la revolución industrial, y posiblemente antes de ella. Es un problema serio y duradero. Un parte de la solución hay que ser el provisión por algunos de las causas de los pandillos, como aburrimiento, aislamiento, y la falta de adultos afectuosos, comprehensivos que los niños pueden respetar. Si se puede proporcionar lugares en las zonas que tienen la mayor necesidad donde niños y jóvenes pueden ir para socializar con sus amigos y con este tipo de adultos, posiblemente se puede influir la próxima generación para reducir el problema un poco en la futura. No es la solución de todo el problema de pandillos, pero puede ser un comienzo.
